My biggest issue is effectiveness on puffy and dark circles. Wrinkle reduction isn't my main concern. Tried Dr. Perricone's Advance Eye Treatment and don't see any results and little irritating.I am 44, just now looking to start to use eye cream for puffiness - need suggestion based in real life results
Do you really want the truth? Are you certain? Not many know it. Even fewer want it.
Here you go (then see my links):
There are a TON of wives tales and jar remedies claiming to fix the problem. Potato slices, lemon juice, cucumber slices, Etc, are all well known by aestheticians and dermatologists to have no benefit other than a therapeutic illusion. Expensive creams DO NOT WORK, but desperate women are willing to throw their money away at them and it’s a million dollar industry making it hard to get to the truth. Here are the REAL causes and options:
Before I explain them, it is also important to be sure you get enough sleep and water and a balanced diet or it can make your skin dehydrated, dry, and unevenly pigmented. That said, the most likely reasons for under eye “circles” issue are as follows:
1. From hollows and/or large tear ducts on the inner part of the under eye area that create a shadow when seen in overhead lighting: A lot of people with respiratory problems or chronic tonsillitis develop the problem as children. In this case there is nothing you can do other than a very rare form of plastic surgery where fat pearls are harvested and injected deep below the skin. Note: there are fillers used in the area but they are temporary and become very expensive in the long run and usually cause severe bruising for a few days following treatment.
2. From thin pale skin that allows your veins to show under your skin. There is no cure for this problem, but fake tans and anything that darkens the skin helps. But this should be done to the entire face as the under eye area does not look good darkened in contrast to the rest of the face.
3. From pigmentation typically hereditary and very uncommon in people of European descent (most common in South Asians), and sometimes caused by scarring from things like microdermabrasion. In this case there are several treatment options, a few of which work. But this is probably not your issue.
4. Sagging caused by aging. Odds are, if you have problem number one, it will get worse with age as the collagen and elastin begins to break down in your face. The only way to prevent this is to absolutely protect your skin from the sun in ALL kinds of daylight. The best way to do this is wear a sunscreen and sunglasses with UV protection. Otherwise, again, the solution becomes cosmetic surgery.
Basically, makeup is the best solution for the problem. Because the under eye area has a lot of lines in women in the mid 20's and beyond, you have to start with a base (I prefer MAC). Allow it try dry before you apply a concealer or foundation. What you need depends on how much coverage is required and your skin type, but if you aren't sure I recommend a liquid concealer. The color should be slightly lighter than your natural skin tone. If you are trying concealers at the store, make sure to allow them to dry completely and checking it in the daylight before deciding the color is right. MAC will allow you to return and exchange the color if you decide it's not right when you take it home.I am 44, just now looking to start to use eye cream for puffiness - need suggestion based in real life results
Hi, let me start by saying that the main problem with puffiness under the eyes is fluid retention. If you are comsuming to much sodium try to ease on it. Also try to sleep with you head a little elevated. See if you also have sinus? In the morning try using an eye sothing gel I like Murad or MaryKay. Cold compress can also help. :D
I know this is going to sound insane but here it goes hemorrhoid cream. It works the best on puffiness. I bet you think I am crazy but I'm not. I read it in a makeup magazine of the stars and tried it. It worked almost instantly.I was amazed. I just turned 40 and I work allot so I was puffy and I had some fine lines. Now before putting on my makeup to go out I dab on a little hemorrhoid cream first.
Cold cucumber slices will sooth and reduce puffiness.
Arbonne’s anti-aging eye cream is the best thing I have ever used!!!! I also had bag above my eyes and there almost gone!! I have been using it for about 6+ months
